    Description

    Vintage Glastonbury CT Volunteer Firefighter's Association 5th Annual Beer Fest June 6 & 7, 1980 5 3/4 Inch Tall Glass Beer Mug/Stein
You are bidding on a Vintage Glastonbury CT Volunteer Firefighter's Association 5th Annual Beer Fest June 6 & 7, 1980 5 3/4 Inch Tall Glass Beer Mug/Stein.
This great looking glass, with blue writing and imagery and ringed in gold, beer mug is a great historical piece from the Glastonbury CT Volunteer Firefighter's Association 5th Annual Beer Fest June 6 & 7, 1980. The mug is in nice shape except the gold ring is imperfect (either it was made this way or from time/use) and the handle looks to have a ding inside the glass (near the top of the handle). This is not chipped on the outside at all.
From the town of Glastonbury's web-site- "The Glastonbury Fire Department was formally established in 1943, when the town’s three independent fire departments where merged into one agency. Prior to the merger, the Naubuc Fire Department provided protection for the northern section of Glastonbury, while the South Glastonbury Volunteer Fire Department protected the southern section of town, which is also known as Nayaug, and the East Glastonbury Volunteer Fire Department served the eastern part of town. Today the Glastonbury Fire Department maintains four fire stations. The names of the three independent departments along with a fourth, known as Buckingham, still remain a strong part of our culture."
The mug features an image of a dog relieving itself near a fire hydrant while a fire fighter tries futilely to wrestle a hose. It reads "Glastonbury Volunteer" above the image and "Firefighter's Assoc. 5th Annual -Beerfest- June 6 & 7, 1980." The back side of the mug is blank.
The bottom of the mug has no noticeable maker marks at all and is slightly concave.
This measures approximately 5 3/4 inches tall and has a 3 inch diameter opening and base. The handle is about 4 inches in length.
Please note there is a slight glare on the photos (from the glass).
