    Description

    This is a NOS advertising antique quack medicine Bicola Pills made by The Turners in Philadelphia.  This was unopened but I carefully unwrapped one side and there is a full page fold out advertising flyer that was wrapped up around the wood bottle.  Blood and Brains make Blue People Bright, and settle nervous Bankruptcy, for men and women.  This quack medicine cured it all:  circulation, liver, back trouble, INSANITY, paralysis, St. Vitus' Dance (cholera), OBGYN, tuberculosis, "..all those diseases of a private and personal character...female weakness....never-failing cure for sexual exhaustion, ealy decay, absence of desire....and other diseases that are sure to make a physical wreck of the sufferer and lead to insanity."  Made prior to 1906 because the ingredients are not listed.  I found some advertisements in periodicals in 1897 and 1898.  Light wear as shown, stains and few paper tears on the side where opened, one piece is separated from the side, carefully back in the original wrap.  For collector display only.  Estate find.
