Description
Very nice cake or dessert serving plate made by Fostoria Glass Company with the Mayflower pattern etched onto it. It's done on the Coronet shape which has two pretty beaded handles and interesting curvy lines going around the edges. It measures about 10 inches across with each handle adding about 1 and 1/4 inches. The serving plate is in very good condition and was made by Fostoria between 1938 and 1954 when they made the Mayflower pattern.Fostoria Glass Company started in 1887 in Fostoria, Ohio. It went on to become one of the most famous in the United States with over 1000 beautiful shapes and patterns, including the most well known,
American
, which they made for over 75 years. The company ran into financial difficulties in the 1970s and were never able to recover, finally closing in 1986.
