Description

This a rare and odd piece of history from a century ago when radioactivity was not fully understood. The water from the ReVIGator (emphasis on "Vig" for vigor) was thought to give a person extra energy because of its radioactivity. The inside of the crock is lined in Radium ore. The Radium decays into Radon gas, which is absorbed by the water inside the crock, making it slightly radioactive. R
adium has a very long half-life, so the crock is nearly as radioactive as it was a century ago. It is in excellent condition, overall, with no cracks. The inside rim has a very small chip (see photo #8). The lid does not appear to be the original lid. The spout is missing on this one, but can be found in other sales on eBay. I have collected radioactive memorabilia for decades, and this is one of the best treasures I have acquired. I'm a retiring physics teacher who has used this Revigator as an example of both the misunderstanding of radioactivity and of radioactive items that could be purchased by the public. I will refund any excess shipping charges.
The dimensions of the crock are 10.75" tall, 6" upper diameter, and 9" lower diameter.
