    Description

    For sale is an extremely rare Andrews' Hair Grower 7" Quack Medicine bottle from the 1800's or turn of the century.  The front of the label reads: "The Best Remedy ever discovered for the Human Hair".
    One side label reads: It will prevent the Hair from turning gray and keep it from falling out, or Scalp from becoming bald.  It will remove and prevent Dandruff and impart vigor and lustre to the Hair."
    The opposite side reads: Directions..."Rub the scalp for five minutes with bristle brush to open up the pores, and apply with palm of hand, rubbing in well with ends of fingers...do not use finger nails.  Use three times a week. Wash the scalp
    thoroughly
    with hot water and the soap that goes with this."
    The product was manufactured by Andrews Drug and Chemical Co., Brillion, Wisconsin and
    Attleboro
    , Mass.  Condition is excellent with the original complete label and cork.  There are no rips or tears on the label and the glass is clean and clear.  There is pharmacist terminology mark molded on the back of the glass bottle "3viii" which means 8 ozs. (48 teaspoonfuls).  The bottom of the bottle has the letter i inside a diamond mark which means Illinois Glass Co., Alton, Illinois 1873- 1929.  It measures 7" tall by 2.5" wide.
