    Vintage 1974 Ralston Engine Company Mendham Township (NJ) Off White Red Gold Ceramic 5 1/4 Inch Beer Stein Mug
    You are bidding on a Vintage 1974 Ralston Engine Company Mendham Township (NJ) Off White Red Gold Ceramic 5 1/4 Inch Beer Stein Mug.
    This great looking off-white, with red and gold writing and imagery, beer stein or mug is a great historical piece for collectors of Firehouse or Mendham Township items as it commemorates the opening of the firehouse in 1974. The mug is in terrific shape- there are no noticeable issues I see with the mug.
    From Wikipedia- "Mendham Township is a township in Morris County, in the central portion of northern New Jersey, United States, located more than 30 miles (48 km) due west of New York City. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 5,869, reflecting an increase of 469 (+8.7%) from the 5,400 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 863 (+19.0%) from the 4,537 counted in the 1990 Census."
    The mug reads on one side RALSTON ENGINE COMPANY, MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, DEDICATION OF THE FIREHOUSE, JUNE 15, 1974 with an image of the firehouse. The mug is encircled in gold near the top and bottom. It also has a decorative wave pattern that circles the mug on the top and bottom. The back side of the mug is blank.
    The bottom of the mug/stein is stamped with the makers mark atop "USA."
    This measures approximately 5 1/4 inches tall, has a 2 3/4 inch diameter opening and has a 4 1/2 diameter base. The thick handle is about 4 inches. This has some mass to it, weighing a pound or so.

    Please note there is a slight glare on the photos- these were taken without a flash but the mug is glazed on the surface. e.
