Here is a vintage Dr. Tutt's Pills Tin -- with what's left of a device, a spring mechanism, perhaps a pill crusher or cutter, inside (riveted to the bottom) -- the package was adopted in 1928.
The top reads: Dr. Tutt's Pills     Established 1845    All Genuine Tutt's Pills Will Have Signature [in script] Wm. H. Tutt,  M.D.
The bottom reads:   For Constipation or as a Cathartic or Purgative where or when indicated.    Adults: begin with one or two pills, Then, take one pill every other night until bowel movements are easy and regular.     children:  Over five years of age   one half the adult dose.     Distributed by Dr. Tull Manufacturing Co., New York, N.Y.     Contents   25 Pills.
Front  reads:  THIS PACKAGE ADOPTED MAY, 1928
Back Reads:  MADE IN U.S.A.
It is about 1 3/4" x 1 3/8".
Condition is as pictured - aged,  and corroded inside.
