Vintage Ceramic Fireman's Boot Mug. Black with gold painted top edge and Maltese Cross in gold & red on side of the boot. The boot is a souvenir celebrating the 100th anniversary of Brewer Fire Engine Company in Monsey NY. 1877-1977. The motto is on the Maltese cross, "A Century of Pride & Service". The boot is 7 1/4" tall, 9 1/2" from toe to handle and 3" wide. A handle is on the back making it a mug that can hold a full 24 fluid ounces. The bottom is finished with alternating natural clay and glaze making it look like the tread on the boot. The maker's mark is stamped on the bottom, Silk City Calendar Co, Paterson NJ. Heavy piece weighing just under 2 pounds. It's in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Minor wear to the top gold paint trim.
